Translation process consists in converting written material from one or more source languages into the target language ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original. Transcreation is the process of adapting a message from one language to another, while maintaining its intent, style, tone, and context.
Revise/Edit/Proofread
Revision means checking the accuracy, consistency and style of the existing translation against the source text. Editing means looking at the target text as a text on its own, while proofreading consists in making sure that it is ready for printing or publishing.
Post-edit
Post-editing is a relatively new task for translators but it is definitely one of the trends in the translation world. Post-editing is the process whereby humans amend machine-generated translation to achieve an acceptable final product. I am not an experienced post-editor yet but I am open to new opportunities in this fast changing world of modern linguistics.
